Curiosities
Mondaino Castle
Mondaino Caste is a typical example of a Malatesta fortress, built to ensure strategic control of the territory and to defend the family from attacks by a rival family, headed by Federico da Montefeltro. Further fortified by Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, Mondaino Castle was once protected by perimeter walls with 13 towers. Still open for visits to this day, the fortress terrace offers truly breath-taking views of Romagna.
