MTB and Raviggiolo
Itinerary: Civitella di Romagna, Cusercoli, Collina, Civitella di Romagna
When it comes to mountain biking, the Romagna countryside offers routes able to keep any fat wheel enthusiast happy – and this itinerary for experienced bikers is no exception. Starting from Civitella di Romagna, the loop itinerary takes place on exciting singletracks and dirt roads that climb up the hills of the Savio and Tramazzo valleys, in a continuous up and down, and which are sometimes very demanding. In fact, during this pure off-road experience, you will have to tackle an altitude gain of over 1,400 metres. Between one trail and the next, however, keep in mind that when you return to Civitella di Romagna you will have the opportunity to stop in a trattoria for an excellent lunch of cappelletti.
Curiosities
Raviggiolo – A cheese with a very ancient tradition, Raviggiolo is one of the typical specialities of Civitella di Romagna. First mentioned as far back as the 16th century, it is also to be found in Pellegrino Artusi’s book “L’arte del mangiare bene” (The art of eating well), which indicates this cheese, made from unpasteurized cow’s milk, as an essential ingredient of cappelletti di Romagna.
